Raigarh, Chhattisgarh – In a moment of pride for Chhattisgarh, Dr. Angesh Chandra from Government Naveen College, Sarangarh (affiliated with Janjgir-Champa), and Dr. Archana Chandra along with their research team from Government PG College, Champa, have been awarded an international patent from the United Kingdom for their innovative design of a solar-powered electric vehicle (EV) charging station.

This design focuses on using photovoltaic (PV) solar panels installed on rooftops or open areas to convert solar energy into electricity. The electricity is then directed to charge HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicles) batteries efficiently. The system utilizes DC-to-AC conversion to ensure compatibility and optimal power management. Smart inverters and charge controllers help maintain safe and sustainable battery charging.

The research integrates IoT sensors and AI-based analytics for smart energy management, allowing real-time monitoring and fault diagnosis. The system ensures optimal energy usage during the day and battery backup for night-time charging, reducing pressure on the grid and supporting clean energy goals.

Dr. Chandra emphasized that this invention addresses the critical need for clean energy-based mobility solutions, especially in rural and remote areas. He also expressed hope that the innovation would inspire further research and bolster the electric vehicle ecosystem in India.

This achievement reflects a step forward in sustainable energy use and technological innovation from the region.
